La Chocolatier Menier - Brève Histoire
L’implantation de la Chocolaterie Menier decoule d’une initiative de Jean Antoine Brutus Menier, un pharmacien qui s'est intéressé à l'art de la fabrication du chocolat . Il a acheté un ancien moulin à Noisiel, mais a essayé de garder leurs activités. La chocolaterie Menier a commencé son processus d'expansion réelle uniquement avec la direction d'Emile Justin Menier, fils de Jean Antoine. Il a été amené même à élargir considérablement l'entreprise familiale et séparait les deux principales activités entreprises par son père : la fabrication des produits pharmaceutiques se faisait à Saint-Denis et l'usine se trouvant à Noisiel était destiné uniquement à la production de chocolat.
Emile mettait en place une structure à concentration verticale, c'est-à-dire qu'il a cherché à contrôler toutes les étapes de production et de distribution de ses produits. Le cacao de Nicaragua a été la base de sa production de chocolat. Il a essayé de procéder à la vulgarisation de la consommation du chocolat. Finalement, après le développement de la compagnie, ce dernier décide de réaliser sa propre company town.
The Chocolatier Menier – Brief History
The Menier Chocolate Factory began as an initiative of Jean Antoine Brutus Menier, a pharmacist who became interested in the art of making chocolate. He purchased an old mill in Noisiel to produce chocolate and the same time tried to keep their activities as a pharmacist. The Menier chocolate factory began its real expansion process only with the leadership of Emile Justin Menier, son of Jean Antoine. He was able to significantly expand the family business. Emile separated the two main activities founded by his father, Jean, reserving the manufacture of pharmaceuticals in Saint-Denis and the factory Noisiel intended only for the production of chocolate.
Emile sought to control all stages of production and distribution of their products: in Nicaragua, began the cultivation of Cacao, that is the main raw material of the production of chocolate, and then he tried to settle the popularization of the consumption of chocolate. Finally, after the development of company of chocolate, he created his own Company-Town.
